The Amazing Shake, an event originally of the Ron Clark Academy, is a competition that places an emphasis on teaching SOAR students leadership, manners, discipline, respect, and professional conduct. At the SOAR Amazing Shake, students compete in five different rounds of competition to determine who will be the SOAR Amazing Shake Champion. Prior to the competition, students learn the nuances of professional human interaction as they are taught skills such as how to give a proper handshake, how to “work a room,” how to give a successful interview, and how to remain composed under pressure. With these goals in mind, students are coached on the importance of (1) celebrating the success of others, (2) taking feedback as a gift, and (3) remembering that learning is the best part of the journey. Our team hopes to enable students across NWA to present themselves exceptionally well for opportunities today and those that will come in the future.
