For over a decade, SOAR has provided families in Springdale and Rogers with affordable afterschool. We find ourselves in a critical moment.

Over the last year, we, like many non-profits, have faced challenges, including the reduced availability of grants and other resources utilized in the past to keep our programs running. Throughout this school year, we have made significant changes to the organization to maintain afterschool without interruptions.

At this moment, we await funding that is necessary for the essential functions of SOAR Afterschool. This means that unless something changes, there will be a gap in resources in mid March and Mid April that could halt SOAR’s afterschool programs.

We are calling on our community to join with us in overcoming this challenge, ensuring that essential SOAR programs can continue, without interruption.

SOAR is Essential.

Affordable afterschool is needed by all, but offered by few. SOAR is filling a critical gap in afterschool for NWA families. Families rely on SOAR as a trusted place for their children while they finish the work day. Over 92% of SOAR Families report that SOAR has enabled them to keep the job they have, get the job or shifts they need or maintain job security in some way.

SOAR is Affordable

The average cost for afterschool for 2 students in Northwest Arkansas is over $700 a month. SOAR provides families with peace of mind in the afternoon, every day, at no cost.

“I was a teacher with a good job. When SOAR started at my kids’ school, I no longer had to choose between groceries and childcare from month to month.”
